Day Off!!!

Well after a full week of work we got a day off.  My days off consist of washing my clothes, cleaning my cabin, working on paperwork for next set of campers, and maybe a quick hike.  I try to hit the streams but with the weather as crazy as it has been I could not fish so after dinner I decided to take on the West Ridge.  It is by far my favorite hike.  It is always changing with flowers blooming and wildlife moving!!  This is one of the most beautiful places I have ever hiked.  I often get a chance to spend alot of alone time with God on this hike.  He always has great things to say and show me:)

Here is a bull moose.  He has been hanging around the camp.  The picture does not do him justice.  Here is what you can see at 8500 ft.

Surprise...

Today we took the campers to the airport to catch their flights.  The next 2 days will be spent working and getting ready for the next group of campers.  Thought I would share what I woke up to.  It has been cool the last 4 days.  The highs have been around 45-50 and the lows 25-30.  It has also been pretty wet for sure.  Rain everyday and not alot of sun.  Well this is what we wake up to this morning:)....

God decided to paint the valley and the mountains white.  Pretty awesome to see how He changes the scenary:)  Also got a couple of pictures of the lucky nut:)  God is Good all the Time....

Long Day

Today was a long day as we worked from breakfast to way after dinner.  In the morning the students started by learning firearm safety and fly tying.  I work with the fly tying.  It is fun to watch them tie for the first time.  Here are some examples of what they made.

This is Megan and Tony with their flies.

Proof that I do work.  This afternoon Gary and I taught archery....sorry no pictures:(

This evening after dinner we took a group up to the falls.  It was an awesome hike where we saw moose, mule deer, and even got a picture of some crazy lucky nut:)

This was great night to be outdoors.  Got alot of time to talk to the campers and learn what they are like.  Fun to listen to.  Just remindes me how importent it is take advantages of the oppurtunities God gives us. God is Good All of the Time...and All the Time God is Good!!

Evening Hike

Good Evening...

Today started out with a good walk followed by a meeting with staff.  Then we picked up campers.  I had 3 in my van.  It was fun to listen to their comments of the mountains.  For some this is the first time they have ever been in the mountains.  After we arrived they got checked-in and ate dinner.  After dinner I took a hike to the falls.  There was 3 feet of snow that fell in March, so there is still alot of snow on the ground and up in the mountain.

The falls had so much water flowing thru them.  It is amazing to see how much beauty Christ has.

Here are a couple more pictures of what I saw on my hike.

The last picture turned out pretty cool....Fighting for my family!!

Final Time...

Well I have been out here for a month and my time has come to an end.  Leaving is always a bittersweet time.  God and my family allow me to come out here, be away from them, and experience the west.  I get the oppurtunity to meet and work with some awesome people.  This place will always hold a special place in my heart.  I would be lying to say I am not ready to come home.  It will be nice to see Dawn and the kids...I do miss them!!

I figured you might want to see the sunset on the ridge.  It is pretty cool.

This last one is probably my favorite.  The camera really does not do justice for what we get to see every day:)  Thanks to all who have prayed, helped, and watched over my family while I was gone.  We serve an Awesome God!!!

The plan is to meet Dawn and kids in town tomorrow and head to Yellowstone to take in the sites of the oldest national park in the US.

In Him,

Nate

Hikes and Sunrises

We had a few extra days off between the sessions, so my days off consisted of hikes, fishing, and a couple of trips taking people into town.  I did manage to fit in a few hikes that got me on top of the ridge for sunrises.  They are simply awesome up there.  I thought you would like to see the sequance.  The camera does not do it justice but you can get the idea.

Each time I go up the ridge you see different type of flowers bloom.  They  bloom at different times because of the heighth that the plants are at.  These flowers had started to bloom...sunflowers and mountain gerinums.  The sunflowers are almost 6 feet tall:)...way taller then me:)

Sometimes I get to have company to join the hike.  This time Aaron...our awesome cook came up with me.  It was his first time up the ridge.  He made and said he was glad he made the trip:)  Thanks for coming up cooky.....

I can never get enough sunrises.  God only gives you so many of them....I dont want to miss a single one:)

2 Sam. 23:4 He is like the light of the morning as sunrise on a cloudless morning, like the brightness after rain that brings grass from the earth.

In Him,
